Two days of exciting and challenging Gorilla photography.
The Gorillas in Bwindi number over 400 and are part of the over 1000 worldwide population found in only three adjacent countries Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.
There are about 140 habituated Gorillas divided into 18 families in 4 locations in Bwindi forest.
It takes about two years to get a gorilla family fully habituated, a process that ensures Gorillas are accustomed to human presence. However, the Gorillas are still wild and all care is taken to ensure safety for both gorillas and clients during tracking. The experienced guides and trackers some of them part of the habituation team lead clients to the Gorillas. And for protection against wild Gorillas and Elephants the guides and trackers carry automatic rifles.
